Our Story

We envision a community where every child and every family has a home, a livelihood and a chance to build a better future.

Our history

Family Promise of Gainesville started in 1998
as a response to homelessness that existed in Alachua County. The organization is part of a larger network of shelter programs across the country serving as an affiliate of Family Promise.

Originally incorporated as the Interfaith Hospitality Network, the organization became Family Promise of Gainesville to reflect our broad range of programs and our vision of ending family homelessness.
